FESTIVAL OF ICE

JANUARY 16 & 17
The 2026 Festival of Ice features demonstrations by professional ice carvers on Friday, January 16 in the Carmel Arts &Design District. Join the fun on Saturday, January 17 at The Ice at Carter Green for the People’s Choice carving competition and the Carmel Fire Department chili cook-off. Bring your family and friends for this free and open to the public event.

The Ice at Carter Green

DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. DAY

JANUARY 16
The Ice at Carter Green will have special hours on this day for the community to come and enjoy the celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s birthday! Open 11:30 a.m. - 7 p.m. (last skating session at 5:30 p.m.).

The public is also invited to join the City of Carmel and the Mayor's Advisory Commission on Human Relations in a ceremony to commemorate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. There will be spoken word, interpretative dance, skits and more beginning at 6:30 p.m. at The Tarkington at the Center for the Performing Arts. CARMEL WINTER GAMES

JANUARY 24
Carmel Winter Games builds real team spirit through on-ice, non-skating competitive games like Ice Trike Relays, Human Curling and Human Hungry Hippo, all while supporting select local nonprofits. In addition, you can cheer on your favorite Hometown Heroes during the competitive Hero-Olympic games between Carmel’s finest, the Carmel Fire Department and Carmel Police Department. Bring your whole family and enjoy the fun!

Only the team captain needs to sign up on Eventbrite, however waivers will need to be signed prior to participation. Sign-up will be available at a later date.

SENSORY SKATE DAY

A sensory-friendly event for families, especially designed for children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Sensory Processing Disorder or any type of special need. Skate aids will be available.
